You have to like animals or birds at our house.

Eating our lunch on the terrace we noticed yet again the industrious little blue tit waiting to take food in to his nest. He has probably chosen quite a good place for his nest,  in a crevice in  the stone walls of the house, apart from the fact we end up having to move from the terrace to eat elsewhere.  For kestrel reasons,  on the opposite side of the house we try not to go out of the French windows too frequently as we do not want to disturb the pair till truly settled in. Fortunately the redstart nesting in the open grange rafters seems quite undisturbed by us eating below. If it is the same cheeky pair as last year they were very prolific and had two broods. We are  so lucky now having the time to enjoy spring at its best and listen there goes the nightingale in the hedge and  look, a swallow dipping over the pool.
